Duplicate Bridge: July 11

       Wednesday is the deadline for tickets to the Unit 116 picnic and games at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 19, in the Grand Stand Casino Room at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg. For info, tickets and partners, call Chip Kean at 695-2610 or email chipkean@aol.com.

Duplicate Bridge: June 27

          The Airport Bridge Club offers extra point games at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, to Friday, July 3. The club will be closed Saturday and Sunday this weekend and next weekend.

       The Lockport Duplicate Club will host a picnic with hot dogs prior to its game at 1 p.m. next Saturday, July 4, in the Dale Center, 33 Ontario Ave., Lockport.

       Congratulations to Liz Clark, the leading Buffalo-area point winner in the District 5 Spring Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC) June 14 to 20. She earned 15.37 silver points and was 13th in the district, which encompasses Cleveland and Pittsburgh. In all, 1,154 players won points.
       Other leading local point winners include: Saleh Fetouh, 13.99 (15th); Jerry Geiger, 13.54 (17th); David Millward, 13.31 (20th); and Meg Klamp and Mike Ryan, 12.21 (tied for 28th).
