Duplicate Bridge: July 2

The Buffalo “Future Stars” Non-Life Masters Sectional Tournament, for players with fewer than 500 master points, will be held Friday, July 8, and next Saturday, July 9, at the Bridge Center of Buffalo, 3362 Sheridan Drive at Sweet Home Road, Amherst, with pairs games at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days. A School Youth Bridge program, with free lessons for middle school students, will be sponsored by Unit 116 from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays in July and August in the Bridge Center of Buffalo, Sheridan Drive at Sweet Home Road, Amherst. A Bridge Mentoring program sponsored by Unit 116 for beginning and intermediate players ia available now through Dec. 31. To be eligible, inexperienced players must have between 5 and 300 master points. Serving as their mentors will be players with more than 2,000 points. 
The pair is required to play a minimum of five times at any sanctioned club game or Unit 116 event. The mentees will pay their own entry fees for the five games. North American Pairs qualifying games with extra points will be held at the Bridge Center of Buffalo at noon this Saturday, 7:15 p.m. Monday, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Bridge Club Meridian has a NAP game at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Duplicate Bridge: June 18

The Spring Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STac), awarding silver points in club play and bonus points for winners at the district level, will conclude at sanctioned ACBL clubs today, Saturday, June 18.
The Airport Bridge Club will hold two STaC pairs games, at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., the Bridge Center of Buffalo will hold its STaC at noon and Lockport Duplicate will play at 1 p.m.

The Longest Day, a series of special games in bridge clubs throughout the country on Monday, June 20, to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, will be played locally at the Bridge Center of Buffalo and the Airport Bridge Club.
The Bridge Center’s games will be at 3 and 7:30 p.m. with refreshments served between games. The Airport Club will hold games with $5 fees at 10 a.m. with Paula’s Donuts, at noon with lunch and at 2 p.m. with desserts.

Duplicate Bridge: June 11

The Strawberry Social hosted annually by Western New York Unit 116 will be held at 12:30 p.m. today, Saturday, June 11, at the Lockport Duplicate Club in the Dale Center, 33 Ontario St.
       The Airport Bridge Club also will have a unit game with Paula’s Donuts, also at 12:30 p.m. today, Saturday, June 11. The Bridge Center of Buffalo is closed today.
