Congratulations to Saleh Fetouh, winner of the most master points at the Buffalo Spring Sectional Tournament April 19 to 21 in the Main-Transit Fire Hall in Williamsville. A member of the winning Swiss team on Sunday, he collected 21.66 points. Runners-up were two of his teammates – Chris Urbanek with 19.70 and Bud Seidenberg with 19.50.

Many Buffalonians made the trek last week to Tennessee to play in one of the biggest regional tournaments on the calendar – the Gatlinburg Mid-Atlantic Regional – where 3,635 players earned master points.

Local players faring the best in Gatlinburg included Jill Wooldridge, 37.54 points (352nd); Powhatan Wooldridge, 36.37 (374th); John Ziemer and Jerry Geiger, 31.63 (tied for 518th); Martin and Barbara Pieterse, 19.58 (tied for 1,030th); and Kathy Pollock, 15.05 (1,375th).
