Duplicate Bridge: Dec. 17

A unit game with extra points will be held today, Saturday, Dec. 17, at noon in the Airport Bridge Club and the Bridge Center of Buffalo and at 1 p.m. in the Lockport Duplicate Bridge Club.

The Airport Club holds its annual Cookie Bash on Monday, Dec. 19, with games at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. (extra-point ACBL membership game). Other extra-point games at the club next week will be at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at noon next Saturday, Dec. 24, and at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 (the ACBL-wide International Fund Game with hand records and analysis by Frank Stewart).

Congratulations to Art Matthies, the Buffalo player who earned the most master points in last week’s District 5 Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC), which took place in ACBL-sanctioned bridge clubs in an area that includes Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. He finished the week with 19.17 points and was sixth in the district overall.

Duplicate Bridge: Dec. 10

The District 5 Winter Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC), which awards silver points at games in local clubs, continues today, Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, at participating ACBL sanctioned clubs.
High-scoring winners have a chance to earn bonus silver points at the district level. The Airport Bridge Club will have two STaC pairs games both days, at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
The Airport Bridge Club, the Bridge Center of Buffalo and the Lockport Duplicate Club will hold a unit game with extra points next Saturday, Dec. 17. The Airport Club has extra-point games every day next week.
