Duplicate Bridge: Dec. 2, 2017





The Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC) will be held Monday to next Saturday at local ACBL sanctioned clubs, offering silver points and extra points for winners at the district level. The Airport Bridge Club will hold STaC games at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. every day, with a snack between games.

Free bridge classes will be held for middle and high school students from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sundays beginning Jan. 7 in the Bridge Center of Buffalo, 3362 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. Beginners and continuing students are welcome to attend. Classes will continue through March 11. For info, email Carol Bedell at lorac5@roadrunner.com.

Hamburg Senior Bridge, which has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons for the past two years at the Hamburg Senior Center, 4540 Southwestern Blvd., is looking for additional players.
Previous players who have been away from the game, as well as advanced beginners who recently took classes, are welcome to join the group.

The Airport Bridge Club will offer the ACBL-wide Charity Game at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at no extra charge. Winners will earn extra points on the district level and there will be booklets with hand analysis.

Unit championship games with extra points will be played today at noon at the Bridge Center of Buffalo and the Airport Bridge Club and at 1 p.m. at Lockport Duplicate Bridge. The Airport Club also will have extra-point games at 11 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

All sanctioned clubs in the Buffalo area will offer Unit Championship Games with extra points Monday, Nov. 13, through next Saturday, Nov. 18.

The Airport Bridge Club also is taking part in an experimental ACBL regional event Monday to Friday which offers players an option to win bonus gold points.
There is no extra charge for the Unit Championship Games, but if players want the gold points, they must pay a $25 registration fee in advance to the ACBL by Sunday. The fee can be paid at the club today. For more info, call 603-6943.
