Duplicate Bridge: July 1




        The Airport Bridge Club will offer extra-point games at noon today, Saturday, July 1, and next Saturday, July 8, and at 11 a.m. Monday to Friday. The Bridge Center of Buffalo also holds an extra-point game at noon today.
On Tuesday, July 4, the Airport Bridge Club will be open, while the Bridge Center of Buffalo and the Lockport Duplicate Bridge Club will be closed for the Independence Day holiday.

Hamburg Senior Bridge, which has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons for the past two years at the Hamburg Senior Center, 4540 Southwestern Blvd., is looking for additional players.
Previous players who have been away from the game, as well as advanced beginners who recently took classes, are welcome to join the group.
Players arrive around 12:15 p.m. Play begins at 12:30 and ends around 3:30. For more information, players can drop in prior to the game, call 202-4505 or email chetzler@roadrunner.com.

Congratulations to Nancy Wolstoncroft, the Buffalo area player who earned the most master points in the Spring Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC), held June 12 to 18 throughout ACBL District 5, which includes Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. She won a total of 16.14 points, ranking 12th in the district.

Duplicate Bridge: June 17


The Longest Day, the nationwide bridge marathon Wednesday to benefit Alzheimer’s awareness, will be observed locally with demonstration games by the Bridge Center of Buffalo from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga. The games will be held on the lower level in front of Lord & Taylor.
The Bridge Center also will have a Longest Day pairs game at 10:30 a.m. in the club, 3362 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. The Airport Bridge Club, 247 Cayuga Road, Cheektowaga, will have full extra-point Longest Day pairs games at 10 a.m. with breakfast, 12:15 p.m. with lunch and 2:30 p.m. with snacks.

The Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC), which awards silver points for pairs games at ACBL-sanctioned clubs, concludes today. The Airport Club will have two STaC games, at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., with a snack between sessions.

The semi-annual Sectional Tournament at the Clubs (STaC), which awards silver points at regular games at ACBL-sanctioned clubs, returns next week. At the Airport Bridge Club, there will be two STaC games daily, at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., Monday to Saturday, with a snack between sessions.
