Duplicate Bridge: Aug. 16

The Airport Bridge Club has moved up the start of its $2 Sunday pairs game to noon this week to accommodate players who also want to attend the Bob Feasley Memorial Corn Fest at the Bridge Center of Buffalo. The Corn Fest starts with dinner at 4 p.m., followed by a game at 4:45.

Triple points will be awarded Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Airport Bridge Club and today, Saturday, Aug. 16, in the pairs game at noon following the “1,000 Hands to Learn From” lesson at 10:45 a.m. Next week’s games award double points.

Unit championship games will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bridge Center of Buffalo and 11 a.m. at the Airport Bridge Club.

Congratulations to Jay Levy, top Buffalo player in the Burt Garrell Syracuse Regional Tournament Aug. 4 to 10 in Liverpool. He was 71st overall with 20.38 points. Other leading Buffalo players in the tournament included Bud Seidenberg and Saleh Fetouh, 10.19 points, tied for 169th; and Chris Urbanek, 8.57, tied for 208th.
