The Buffalo Fall Sectional Tournament opens with pairs games at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, and next Saturday, Sept. 16, in the Main-Transit Fire Hall, 6777 Main St., Amherst. It concludes with Swiss teams at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. For more info, click this link.

Bridge Club Meridian will hold an extra-point game at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11. The Airport Bridge Club will award extra points at its games at noon today, Saturday, Sept. 9, and 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, to Thursday, Sept. 14.

The Airport Bridge Club and the Bridge Center of Buffalo will be closed during the Buffalo Fall Sectional.

Congratulations to Martha and John Welte, leading Buffalo-area master point winners at the Pittsburgh Labor Day Regional Tournament last week. Playing together, they each collected 38.59 points.

Other leading local players in Pittsburgh included Linda Burroughsford and Davis Heussler, both with 32.15 points; Kamil Bishara and Dian Petrov, both with 29.72 points; Ken Meier and Tom Koralewski, recently transplanted to Avon, Ind., both with 16.34 points; and Penny and Peter Shui, both with 13.77 points.

Hamburg Senior Bridge, which has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons for the past two years at the Hamburg Senior Center, 4540 Southwestern Blvd., is looking for additional players.

Previous players who have been away from the game, as well as advanced beginners who recently took classes, are welcome to join the group.
